Email Marketing
My newest position, email marketing specialist, has given me the opportunity to really have some fun with email marketing and landing page optimization. It’s been exciting for me because in the past, their marketing department did not set measurable objectives or develop a strategy when launching a campaign. I’ve influenced my team to launch every campaign with a plan with reasonable objectives. We will soon be implementing A/B variable testing with our future campaigns.

I have delivered a weekly newsletter for my small business, RangeBuzz.com for nearly three years. Email marketing has been an extremely important part of my traffic strategy. Over 3 years, I have had very few subscribers cancel their newsletter and have had a loyal following for three years; people look forward to finding out the weekends upcoming events, dining news and live music schedules. My strategy has been to give an overview of the weeks events, encouraging click-through to get the details. I have an average open rate of 35-40% and a click-through rate of about 25-30%.

When I worked for Mesabi Range Community and Technical college, I created and implemented an email campaign that included 4 market segments: educators, students, career seekers and business owners. The campaign was designed to 1) create awareness for eFolio Minnesota and 2) to assist readers wtih tips and information to help them build their portfolios.
